Pour y aller, c'est simple, le bateau et 2 heures de notre temps et puis une autre petite demi-heure en minibus pour rejoindre la petite ville touristique de Ao Nang. Comme d'habitude l'ensemble du périple ressemble à un grand bazar. À notre grande surprise, tout ce petit monde, je parle des locaux impliqués dans ces transports et transferts, sait exactement quoi faire et quand...ça marche tout simplement.
To go there, easy, the boat again and 2 hours, then another half hour with the bus. As usual, it looks like chaos, but again everyone knows what to do and it works.
L'après-midi, plage, la plage locale, c'est vrai qu'il y en a 2, une fréquentée principalement par les locaux et l'autre semble être le point de rencontre des touristes venus de toutes les parties du globe ou presque. L'eau y est plus chaude et moins clair qu'à Koh Lanta.
In the afternoon, the local beach. There are 2 of them. One where the locals go and the other where all tourists from all around the world gather. The water is warmer but not as clear as in Koh Lanta.
Le lendemain, nous avons pris le taxi-bateau pour nous emmener à Railay, situé à un quart d'Heure. L'endroit est superbe, l'eau transparente et les formations karstiques nombreuses. Pas besoin d'amener quoi que ce soit pour le repas du midi, les bateaux-cantines sont là pour vous servir à un prix tout à fait convenable et le soir, les tenanciers s'assurent que la plage reste propre pour accueillir le lendemain d'autres touristes en mal de soleil et de farniente. A Railay, on y fait aussi de l'escalade et du snorkeling.
The following day, we hop into a long tail boat for a 15 minute ride to Railay. It's very pretty, the waters are clear and there are many karst rocks. No need to bring anything to eat for lunch, the restaurant boats are there for a very reasonable price. At night, they clean behind the tourists to welcome more tourists the following day eager to rest and enjoy the sun. Many come here as well for rock climbing and some snorkelling.
Le jour d'après et après bien des hésitations sur le genre d'excursions que nous voulions faire, nous optons finalement pour l'île de James Bond ( c'est son nom ) et la baie de Phang Na, un delta avec mangrove et là aussi des formidables formations karstiques. Nous mangerons sur un restaurant flottant situé lui-même dans un petit village flottant. Dommage que l'endroit soit aussi le rendez-vous de dizaines de compagnies œuvrant dans ce genre de ballade...et puis, c'est aussi l'approche du nouvel an Chinois et ils sont aussi. Pour finir, promenade en kayak de mer pour découvrir de plus près ces formations calciques...pas mal du tout malgré les 299 autres kayaks.
After hesitating quite a while on what type of outings we should select, we ended up choosing the Island of James Bond and the Bay of Ao Phang Na, a delta with a mangrove and some big karst rocks. Too bad that once again, dozens of companies propose the same outing... And the Chinese New Year is next week, therefore vans of Chinese are travelling everywhere. To end our day, a short ride in a sea kayak to discover more limestones formation... Not too bad at all despite the 299 other kayaks.
