Quite a few things have happened in the last three weeks, which prevented me from blogging. First of all, my best half from Montreal has arrived! Pom-pom came here for a look-see and house hunting trip.
This being said, he was not very lucky the first weeks. It rained cats and dogs every day. I took a day off to go see condos with him and we walked under sheets of rain all day. Welcome to Vancouver! However, we did not take it easy on our training. Pom arrived on a Saturday and already on the Sunday, we ran 29 kilometers and crossed the Lions Gate Bridge. As Pom has only been training in a gym in Montreal, he joined my group, the 4h15. Well, he was not even tired. He was heading the group most of the time! I was floored, but I should not have been. After more than 30 years, I should know he is wonderful! On both Wednesdays, we did our Hill training. The first Wednesday, as usual, it was pouring and on the second Wednesday, some light rain, but at least, we were not completed soaked. 9 hills, one after the others, and Pom was again in the middle of the pack (with runners who run the the marathon in less than 4 hours). Not bad at all! The second Sunday, 29 k again and I suffered! I was exhausted when we arrived, not Pom.... Otherwise, we have enjoyed 15 days of food, seafood restaurant, twice Sushi, one dim-sum, another time Chinese, once Italian! We did not want to feel down! In addition to our runs and culinary experiences, we walked through the city and just enjoyed being together again. A few pictures above.
